Certified Payroll/Prevailing Wage Reporting Requirements Vary by State

certified payroll reporting requirements vary by stateMOST anyone will tell you that completing a certified payroll report on a weekly basis is a time-consuming, error-prone, and frustrating task!

You need to know which paper form or electronic filing method is being used in order to be paid promptly.

Don't let anyone tell you that there is just a single certified payroll reporting form!

Here's the facts:

  • 11 states require the Federal WH-347 form (or acceptable equivalent) to be filed on prevailing wage projects
  • 11 states have one "state specific" requirements that have been derived from the Federal format
  • 28 states have multiple agencies dictating prevailing wage/certified payroll requirements (each with their own special form), multiple labor compliance companies and/or require certified payroll data to be electronically submitted via the web, in either a state (or agency) specific format or a nationally recognized format produced by Labor Compliance companies like eComply (formerly MyLCM/TRS Consultant's, Inc./Hill International) Labor Compliance program, LCPtracker, Elation Systems, or the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials - AASHTOWare Project Payroll.  Additionally many state agencies are developing their own systems.  Electronic filing requirements are being implemented very fast and we do not always know when a new state implements these requirements.

We have have spent thousands of hours doing research to make sure that Certified Payroll Solution will work with QuickBooks to produce paper or electronic Certified Payroll and EEOC Reports that meet the requirements of each state - so you get paid on time.

Demonstrations and full-sized sample reports, that have been completed with Certified Payroll Solution using actual QuickBooks data, are available by going to our Demonstration page and then clicking on your state.
