Sunburst Software Solutions, Inc. Launches Wage Manager Solution to Share
Payroll Wage Data with QuickBooks® Products
Integration with QuickBooks® Helps Small Businesses Save Time and Money
West Charleston, VT - February 16, 2005 - Sunburst Software Solutions, Inc.
today announced that Wage Manager Solution will now share data with Intuit's QuickBooks®
software products - including QuickBooks® Pro and Premier Editions, as well as Enterprise
Solutions; and is built using Microsoft technology. The exchange of critical data,
such as Employee and Payroll Wage Items, benefit small business owners and payroll
administrators who use both products by managing business more efficiently - saving valuable time,
money, and resources by automating employee pay increases or creating new payroll wage items.
"Wage Manager Solution has been designed to assist business owners and/or payroll
administrators eliminate the time-consuming task of editing individual employee records
and updating pay rates employee-by-employee," says Nancy Smyth, Certified QuickBooks
ProAdvisor and President of Sunburst Software Solutions, Inc. "Wage
Manager has been designed to access every employee, the payroll items assigned to them
as well as the rate of pay pulling it into a convenient grid-like screen that
looks similar to a spreadsheet. Once the information is pulled into the grid
the business owner or payroll administrator can work with multiple payroll items
and rates for multiple employees all at the same time".
Existing payroll wage items and rates may be modified if there is an across the board pay increase, new
payroll items may be created and assigned to multiple employees or obsolete payroll items may be removed
from employee records. Once the user is satisfied with the changes, the information may then be written back
to the QuickBooks file and the user can watch the process in a documented log file as it happens; thus, being
able to quickly correct any problem that the program should encounter - such as the inability to write to
a specific employee's record because that record is open in QuickBooks.
Today there are more than 12 million small businesses currently using computers in the U.S. (TowerGroup, 2001).
Nearly three million small businesses use QuickBooks and 80 percent of those want QuickBooks to integrate with
their other software and devices (QuickBooks 2000 User Study). Existing users of QuickBooks could benefit
from such a product whether they have 10 employees or 100.
"The Intuit Developer Network strives to help the best and brightest developers solve the business management challenges
small business owner's face every day," said Ed Schaffer, business leader of the Intuit Developer Network. "We are
pleased to be able to work with innovators like Sunburst Software Solutions to offer small businesses specialized applications
that will work with the QuickBooks Financial Management Software products. The data integration with Wage
Manager and the QuickBooks products is an example of how increased efficiencies in managing financial data
can give business owners more time to oversee other parts of their business."
