QuickBooks for Contractors

Having worked with QuickBooks since the early 1990's, when it first came out, and specializing in the commercial construction industry when I had an active bookkeeping practice - - and even right up until today; I'm amazed at how few resources or reference material there are for How to Use QuickBooks in the Commercial Construction Industry.

While I've put a lot of the things I've learned how to do - the hard way into the manuals that come with our software; there are still many items that I've left untouched. With that thought in mind - "One of these days I'm going to write a book", but until them I'll publish a Free Quarterly Newsletter (which you can sign up for on the main site), and for the time being keep an archive the the articles here.

As a contractor new to QuickBooks finding information on how to setup your new Quickbooks progam to use in your commercial construction business can be a daunting task. The Quickbooks Manual, In-Program Help, and the QuickBooks Learning Center all seem to focus on setting up QuickBooks for the homebuilder or residential contractor - which can leave you feeling very confused.

The items below are free excerpts from the "QuickBooks for Contractors - Mastering QuickBooks for Commercial Contractors" book currently being written by Nancy Smyth, Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor & President of Sunburst Software Solutions, Inc.
