Looking into how the program works, I realized that it pulls from current QB data, which is why it used the current pay scale. My question deals with being able to print out payroll reports that reflect the past pay scale, not the current pay scale.
I tried running a B/U of the data to do a test restore, but the restoration overwrites current data; there doesn't appear to be a way to restore to a different location. I suppose I could backup current data, restore old data, print the report, and then restore current data, but that seems to be a bit a convoluted method of getting some old data.
So, on to my questions:
1. Is it possible to send the B/U to somewhere other than the A: drive? I tried selecting the C: drive and got the following message: "Please specify a single drive letter for the destination media"
2. Will reports printed off of a restored B/U be identical to the reports that were printed at the time of the B/U?
3. Is there a way to print reports directly from the B/U media w/o having to restore the data?
Thanks.

Steven,
The "Backup" for CPS is only for the CPS data, and not the QuicKBooks data. The wage rates are located in the QB file, and CPS does not store this info. I'll explain the CPS backup first.
The Backup program simply copies the "Data" folder (all files & folders in this folder) to the specified media. In CPS under System Setup --> System Preferences --> Data Locations --> Data Path, is where your "CPS" data folder is located. You can simply copy this folder in "My Computer" or "Windows Explorer" to any location.
However, the Wage Rates are located in your QuickBooks file. Specifically in each employee's record. This is the data you need to change. So it is really your QuickBooks files that we would want to backup and restore. (Assuming you have an older copy of your QB file at that point in time. And I am going to doubt that you have that.
Wage Manager Solution, which is included in the current 5.0 version, will let you change all these wage rates pretty fast. It sure beats editing each one individually. This program is very easy & intuitive to use and has a help button on every screen that should let you answer any questions.
