Sunburst Software Solutions, Inc. to Offer Completely New Construction Application
for Payment Software That Integrates with QuickBooks Pro 2002 and Premier!
December 28, 2001 - West Charleston, VT - Sunburst Software Solutions, Inc.
announced the release of their new Construction Application for Payment Solution (CAPS) software.
Construction Application for Payment Solution has been designed expressly for contractors and
sub-contractors who are required to submit billings using the standard American
Institute of Architects (AIA) format.
CAPS works by utilizing the Estimate and Progress Invoicing capabilities of
QuickBooks® Pro and Premier 2002; and opens a whole new avenue for users of these
programs. Information is gathered from the Customer/Job record, the Estimate, and
the Progress Invoice and brought into CAPS. The operator is then prompted for additional
information relating to the contract: the Application number, Architect Information, Architect Project number, etc.,
the information is then merged together to generate completed forms similar to AIA G-702
and G-703®; Contractor Application for Payment and Continuation sheet with only a
minimal number of keystrokes. Additionally, operators are prompted and allowed to choose a flat
or variable rate of retainage for an entire job or individual line items, allowing for the
automatic retainage and percent complete calculations.
The product has successfully completed rigorous beta site testing and has consistently
created accurate billings using both Fixed and Variable rates of Retainage.
Construction Application for Payment Solution (CAPS) will:
- Greatly reduce the total number of hours spent on percentage of completion billings
- Eliminates the need to purchase pre-printed forms
- Provides the ability to print multiple copies on plain paper
- Generates billings similar to AIA Forms G-702 and G-703® Contractor Application
for Payment and Continuation Sheet
- Reduces and/or eliminates transposition errors, all Retainage and Percent Complete
calculations are performed automatically
- Anyone in the office can now generate these billings
- Eliminates the need to enter data twice
- Interface with QuickBooks® Pro and Premier 2002 utilizing new QBXML technology
- Requires Microsoft Excel

for specialized accounting requirements, and has developed this product in addition to Certified Payroll
Solution to answer the need of the small business, which until now has had extremely limited options.
Large user demand is expected to fuel referral and Internet distribution providing the lowest price
generating broad market appeal. Sunburst Software Solutions, Inc. plan to release a version of CAPS that will integrate with QuickBooks®
Pro 99 to 2001 in late January 2002.
